History Of Amos N' Andy

Starting as Sam and Henry in 1926, Amos N' Andy made its debut in 1928 on WMAQ in Chicago Illinois. Staring African American characters Amos Jones (the naive and honest one) and Andy H. Brown (the lazy and good natured one), voiced by Freeman Gosden (Amos) and Charles Correll (Andy) who became two very well known characters in the United States.

Although the show was viewed as racist it was very famous in both the white and black community Because they show tried to stray away from problems that had to do with race instead Tried to have problems that both Black and White people could relate with. The show still was based off of a stereotypical portrayal of the African Americans in the 1920's and 30's and was quite racist, but people of all races would tune in to listen to it every night.
